Temple
In each eon, wherever the evil forces over power the righteous ones, and the Dharma deteriorates, the Lord takes an avatar to destroy the evil (Gita). Similarly whenever the spiritual thoughts diminish in the world, the merciful siddhas exercise their physic powers and restore the spiritual beliefs by causing many miracles.
The siddhas may take births as great devotees of the Lord; may cause the appearance of "Swayambu Lingas"; may cause the construction of a temple with plenty of divine powers. During some of these acts they may remain in their subtle bodies, or may use others as their instruments for carrying out such tasks.
Thus with the blessings of the Siddhas and as per the instructions received in the ARUL VAKKU (Divine Communication), plans were drawn, based on the 'Siddha-Agama' rules. The Pallikaranai Adi Parasakthi Temple was constructed and was successfully consecreted on 12.04.1984.
The 'Mantra Book' of the temple, in which the 108 Archana Mantras glorifying the Mother's Devine qualities, the Shakti Kavacham, and 1008 Mantras containing the gist of the 4- vedas, and many other mantras were given by the Mother in Her 'Arul Vakku' as on required basis.
Speciality of the temple
The Chief sculptor Shri. Dakshinamoorthy refused to sculpt the statue of the Mother to be kept in the sanctum sanctorum, because the specifications given, by the siddhas, did not follow the 'Silpa Sastra' rules. The siddhas lit a piece of camphor and in its flame, the sculptor, saw the actual 'Murti' and only then he started its construction.
There are two statues in the sanctum; the bigger one adorned with ornaments representing the materialistic (boga) way of life; and the smaller one with closed eyes depicting the spiritual (yoga) way of life.
Unlike all other temples, musical instruments are never played inside the temple premises. No bells are ever rung during poojas either. The temple always maintains a silent atmosphere which is conducive for meditation and prayer.
The Mother's temple has four siddhas sitting in four corners :-

Sri Thayumanavar, in the SE preaching Guru Bakti |
 |
Sri. Vallalar, in the SW preaching Samarasa Sanmarg |
 |
Sri. Pattinathar in the NW preaching Gnana marg |
 |
Sri. Pambatti Siddhar in the NE preaching Dhyana Yoga. |
When we circumambulate these siddhas cast their looks on us and gradually change our lives and take us into their fold.
The mula (seed) mantras and mantras for various other prayers / poojas are being given by the Mother, on as and when required basis.
The rituals and mantras used are in the siddha tradition of worship and are extremely effective.
The temple is run, for 12 months at a stretch, by one of the eighteen siddhas, in turn.
All devotees, irrespective of their caste, colour and creed, are permitted to do Abishekam of the Mother on all full moon days, subject to certain conditions laid down (see Sakti Malai).
Devotees are permitted to do various poojas / yagams, themselves, in the siddha tradition with Tamil mantras (see Mandira Pavai, Sakthi Malai) as directed by the Mother.
The temple personnel do not go around with printed receipts doing door
to door canvassing. They ask Her and She provides them.
The audit reports are verified by the Mandira Pavai once a quarter.
Unbeleivable? But, it is true. The modus operandi is secret.
Vinai Theertha Vinayagar
The idol of Lord Ganesha is facing west. Only after paying obeisance at his feet one should proceed to the other temples. By praying here, the karmas of the previous births melt away and hence the name "VINAI THEERTHA VINAYAGAR".
Adi Parasakthi Amman Karuvarai
The great universal Mother, ANNAI ADI PARASAKTHI existing as the "Omkara Sakthi" inside this sanctum sanctorum, bestows good health and all other materialistic requirements of Her devotees, for their continued well being.
The second smaller idol of the Mother ABIRAMI in a meditative posture inside the same sanctum is meant for the spiritual upliftment of the devotees, who yearn for wisdom and liberation. She shows the dharmic path to the sincere sadhaks and showers Her blessings on them.
The Bija seedMantras and the Yantras for all the deities were given by the Mother Herself during Arul Vakku. Above the main entrance to her sanctum stand in vigil the 'Sapta Kanniyar'. At the same level, on all the other three sides, the 'Nava Grahas', who obliterate the previous 'doshas' and sins of the devotees, are depicted as seated, with their spouses and vahanas respectively.
As we go around Her sanctum we find the four siddhas advocating four different doctorines. Thayumanavar emphasising the importance of mouna; Arut Prakasa Vallalar teaching us the 'Sanmarga' way of life; Pattinathar telling us the importance of austerity and the Pambatti Siddhar explaining the importance of yogic life.
Mandhirapavai
For the spiritual development and for the general welfare of the mankind the siddhas may sit in groups and meditate every now and then. Evil forces normally hamper such noble deeds. To put an end to such attacks by the evil forces, the siddhas came out with a permanent solution. They approached 'THERAIYAR', one of the first disciples of the great sage 'AGASTHYA'. Under his able leadership, the siddhas, after a prolonged planning created an omniscient, luminant young sakthi, made up of mantra vibrations only, with a suitable omnipotent yantra. She is capable of protecting the mankind internally, externally and also from all kinds of 'Abicharas' (evil caused by black magic). She is capable of expunging all our past sins, be a good guru, showing us the right path; impart right knowledge which leads to wisdom. She is considered to be the protecting deity of siddhas.
As she is made up of mantra vibrations only, she is known as the 'Mandira Pavai', visible only to the yogic eyes. For easy understanding of the ordinary devotees the siddhas gave Her a physical form: a radiant young maiden, as seated on a padmam with 4 hands; two hands holding a shield and a wisdom giving sword respectively and the other two in 'abaya varadam' mudra.
At the top of the front mandapa, facing inwards, on either side depicted are the "six houses" of Lord Murugan with his spouses and vahana. The houses are depicted clockwise in the order in which they are to be visited along with the 'moolavars' and the history behind the origin of each 'house'.
Facing South and lookinig directly from above, at the Mandira Pavai, is the statue of Guru Dakshina Moorthy, sitting under the famed "Kallala tree" imparting wisdom to his disciples popularly known as the 'Sanagadhi Munis'. On his left and right are the ideols of Swami Vivekananda, Sri Rama Krishna Paramahamsar, Bagwan Ramana Maharishi, and Arut Prakasa Vallalar respectively.
Meditation Hall
An ideal place for keen sadhaks and all those who are interested in meditaion. This hall has been constructed as per the specifications given by the siddhas, based on the siddha-agama rules. Those who meditate here would be guided either by their own gurus or by one of the siddha gurus, through inner guidance / vision. Thus a sincere sadhak stands to gain inner vision, learn about samadhi and salvation.
If one meditates on one's own problems, the ways and means for solving them would dawn in him, and he stands to reap innumerable other benefits as well. Inner feelings would guide him in acheiving his aims.
To this end, classes are being conducted even for novices, as per the instructions given by the Mother.
Siddhars
Siddhas are the immortals, who remain in their subtle bodies. They are omniscients and are capable of performing miracles with their 'Astama Siddhis'. They worship Lord Shiva, as Guru Maheswara, and consider Him to be the first siddha. They worship Manonmani as their Mother. While staying in selected places conducive for samadhi, invisible to the mortals, help those devotees who seek their help and guidance. By getting in their good books one can receive all kinds of materialistic and spiritual help; a mere look from them is enough to achieve this end.
They are the great souls who introduced 'Siddha Medicine'. They are seated in meditation in front of the Mandira Pavai, and shower their blessings on all the devotees. By meditating in front of them for 20 minutes, and by beseeching their blessings one can do away with all kinds of sins, and can get cured from fatal, incurable diseases.
Hence the 'Sastiyapta Purthi' Yagam conducted in their presence yields prosperity and longevity.
Garlanding the Sidddhars
The Siddhas are considered to be the masters of all kinds of scientific and spiritual knowledge. Hence honouring and worshipping the 18 siddhas by garlanding them on a 'pournami day' ensures quick advancement in any chosen field and is named 'Siddhar Malar Malai'.
Arul Vakku
Whatever instructions / guidance one may get during the Arul vakku, they must be followed to the letter and with implicit faith.
Lighting a lamp and reciting the 108 archana mantras of the Mother infront of her photo, at least once a day, and reading of 1008 mantras on Fridays would ensure faster relief from various problems.
While reading of 'Sakthi Kavacham' once a day will ensure faster cure from various maladies.
Those benefited through the Arul vakku, by telling others of their experiences would earn the blessings of the siddhas and the Mother.
