Method of worship in this Temple
A total of 49 ghee lamps are to be lit with the frame of the Aganda Deepam; one for the Lord Vigneswara and the remaining 48 for the Mother. Then one has to go around the temple of Lord Ganesha 5 times, while praying for the removal of any and all obstacles.
Then, while going around the Mother's temple 3 times, one has to take a vow for giving a suitable donation either in cash or in kind, after one's problem has been solved satisfactorily.
Finally one has to go around the Mandira Pavai temple complex 19 times, which also includes the enclave of the 18 siddhas. After that one has to sit in front of the Mandirapavai and the siddhas and meditate with a one pointed mind for 20 minutes. Thus one's desire is likely to bear fruits with in a mandalam (48 days).
Once the prayer has been answered successfully, one should pay the donation as vowed earlier and must visit the temple at least once a week. The pradikshana of the sanctum sanctorums ensures faster fulfilment of one's desires, and hence it is recommended that one should visit the temple as many times as possible.
Importance of Yagam
The Lord created mankind and provided them with everything for their welfare and continued happiness. But life is not that simple or easy, for every human being has multifarious (self created) problems, for which one cannot blame Him. What we have done, knowingly or unknowingly, in this birth and in the innumerable previous births, is the cause of all our good and bad karmas, resulting in our misery.
Lord Sri Krishna in Gita has spelled out a number of ways and means for cleansing ourselves of these sins, one of them being the conduction of yagams, wherein he emphasises its importance in removing our past sins. These yagams are categorized as
Deva Yagam
Paying homage to the Celestal beings by feeding the
Offerings in fire and by pacifying them.
Brahma Yagam
Daily poojas done at home as a routine, while reciting Mantras and offering prasad etc., with devotion.
Pitr Yagam
Offerings dedicated to the ancestors for their continued well being.
Atithi Yagam
Feeding and looking after the guests and other poor human beings.
The Lord explains these yagams in detail and has assured a sin free life ever after, provided one does one of the yagams as prescribed, sincerely. It is on record that many rishis, munis and kings conducted such yagams for succeeding in their endeavours.
Similarly for the benefit of the mankind and for obliterating all and every type of sin / punishment / problems, the siddhas have laid down various kinds of yagams, their modus operandi, their benefits etc., in detail.
Amavasai Yagam
On every amavasai, around 11am, a special yagam is being conducted for appeasing the family deity (kula devata) and for appeasing the pitr, (ancestors). By appeasing and getting their blessings would result in a peaceful domestic atmosphere, increased earnings, and in the reduction of wastages. Health and prosperity would increase. Worries and fears would vanish.
Pournami Night Yagam
On every pournami day this yagam is being conducted in front of the Mother's Sanctum Sanctorum. It commences around 11pm and finishes exactly at midnight, after the arthi to the full moon.
By taking part, one can get the blessings of the Mother, gurus and the Siddhas, which would ensure all auspicious events like marriage, promotion, going abroad etc.,
Mandira pavai Special Yagam
This yagam is being conducted to suit the requirements of the devotees, on a day selected by them and starts around 11am, at the yaga salai.
This yagam is a cure-all for all kinds domestic problems, caused by black magic, or by karma-which affects the mind, body, property and the family life etc.,
Aushada Yagam
A specially designed yagam for the removal of the fear of death, and for curing incurable diseases. By the use of sanjeevi MRUTHYUN JAYA-mantra given by the siddhas. The related mantra and other details pertaining to this yagam, was originally given, by Lord Shiva to Chandra Bagwan, who in turn gave it to BIRUGU Maharishi. This again was passed on to GORAKKAR who conducts this yagam nowadays, through the temple volunteers, including women, specially trained for this purpose, in the siddha-agama tradition, in Tamil.
Aiswarya Yagam
This yagam is capable of showering all the 16 types of riches along with name and fame, longevity, and continued success in all endeavours. KAUTILYA maharishi gave the related mantra and other details to TIRUMULAR, who taught it to GORAKKAR-and the yagam is being conducted as explained above. |
